Now that you have found this website you are wondering what on earth you should do next. The following article will try to introduce and explain some of the cool features of this type of site. But just remember one thing: This site belongs to everyone! Once you have signed up and have been approved as member, you have almost full access to all features, and can help build this site by uploading files, posting comments in the forum, sending private messages to other members, or public messages to all members. You can enter dates of new events in the agenda, and much, much more. Help me make this a really cool site...
Once you have logged in, what do you see? Let's have a look at the three columns before you (in the "home" page - they keep changing their look when you access other pages).
LEFT COLUMN
The "User Menu" lets you view and change your account settings, and you will see if you have any notifications or private messages.
The "Main Menu" lets you choose the different services.
"Contact Us" - Lets you send a quick message to the webmaster.
"News" - That is the page you are reading right now. You can also post articles to this page ("Submit News").
"Web Links" - Same thing, you can also post links that you think others might enjoy.
"Members" - Lets you search the database to find a certain member. Since we don't really expect thousands of members in the near future, you can just go to the bottom and click on "Submit".
"Agenda" - Opens the calendar. There you see what has been scheduled, and you can add an event.
"Forum" - That's the place where you can discuss topics with others, ask and/or answer questions. I have set up a few categories, but feel free to add others, like "Best restaurants in town"...
"VCCM Newsletter" - From time to time we will send a newsletter to all members that you will get in your e-mail. But you can also read it here, as well as older versions.
"Worship Music" - Vineyard Music has released a bunch of new songs that can be distributed freely. I have posted a few for you to hear. Depending on your computer settings it will either play them live, or let you download them.
"Downloads" - Here you can find some interesting articles, presentations etc., and you can upload yours to share with others.
"Classifieds" - Here you can find and post items that are for sale, or to be shared with others.
"Who's online" - Well, just that... But you can click on the name of a person online and send them a private message immediately.
"Upcoming Events" - For the next 30 days
"Weather" - So that you don't forget to put on your jacket when you go out...
"Subscriptions" - here you can sign up for the VCCM Newsletter.
MIDDLE COLUMN
This shows you the content of the page you had chosen from the menu. Also I am testing a chat module called "Shoutblock". You can use it from the page, or from a popup window when you click on "Popup".
RIGHT COLUMN
"The Quote" - If you have a good one, send it to me, I'll put it in.
"Minical" - Small version of the agenda. You can also post events from there.
"Search" - Anything, but only from this site (this is not google).
"New Members" - So you know who's joined recently.
"Themes" - Here you can change the look of this website (just for yourself). Right now there are 3 options, I might add more later on, but that's a lot of work.
"Internet Radio" - Only for you "broadband-users" out there. Came with a list of stations. Let me know the details of your favorite station, and I'll try to include it.
